The lecture series Lehrforschung / Research-based Learning of the Faculty of Cultural Studies at TH Köln presents ongoing and completed research-based teaching projects. There, as a KISD alumna, I presented the cooperation project Robotic Operations between University Hospital Cologne and KISD, funded by the RheinEnergie Foundation, which examines the interplay of image, space, and action in robot-assisted surgery and develops design-research perspectives on the relationship between design and medicine.
The talk covered the project and the observations from the operating room; the question itself had arisen at KISD, with my bachelor’s thesis Screen Spaces on the image-space structure of robot-assisted surgery.
